Goodbye 2004, Hello 2005!

How fast time flies. 2004 had brought me a lot of challenges and hardships, but a lot of memorable things happened as well, so, I guess I can't complain. It's a bittersweet feeling -- being that it's going to be New Year's Eve. Bitter because it becomes evident that, yes, we are all growing old, but hey, "it's just another New Year's Eve, another night like all the rest" ;) Sweet, because a New Year is beginning, a brand new year that will bring us new challenges, more opportunities, and tons of interesting people to meet.

So. . .What's New Year's Eve like in Canada? Well, let's just put it this way...it's very different from the traditional Filipino New Year's Eve. Even though people dont light fireworks (they only do it in the center of the city), or Media Noche (a midnight snack), my family and I still try to celebrate it the noypi style, except without the fireworks because its illegal here.(Oh, killjoy!) We'd go to our family friend's house and celebrate it there, join the countdown and stuff. But of course, it's far more exciting and fun back home. I miss the Philippines more than ever during Christmas breaks because of our "astig noypi" traditions. Haayy...How I wish I could just go back home during these days. It just made me realize how "babaw" we can be...simple small stuff can make us smile and laugh. I remember when I was back home, I would always go outside during the day of New Year's Eve and play with "watusi", those little firecrackers that everyone used to love.

Good ol' days. . . *sigh*

Well, I guess I better get used to this kind of Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve celebrations, because I'm not gonna be able to come home during these occasions anytime soon. =( And next year, we'll be dual-citizens. Weeee! =) That will be such a relief, especially for my dear father, he's a "sigurista", he likes security. =)

New Layout is Up! =)

4 Days 'til New Year's Eve

Today was an alright day...went out for lunch..well, late lunch early dinner...we ate at Pizza Hut.. mmmm miss those calories! haha! It's been a while since we ate there...so yea. we ordered this family meal that consists of 2 medium pizzas, ceasar salad, pasta, and garlic bread. yummm! we only got to finish one pan pizza coz we were already so full! so we took the other whole pizza home =) yay, im having pizza for breakfast tomorrow! haha. So after that, my mom and my sis went to look for my sister's snow pants while my dad, rollo, and I went to Best Buy to look for an internal CD-R drive (coz mine just disappeared..weird) It was so f-ing cold outside! It was fuh-ree-zing! Damn this weather! I hate winterr. Ugh.

Anyway. . . I've been looking through some new skins for my blogsite..and I'll be changing my layout soon (tomorrow, maybe?) So yeah. . . Oh btw, I already finished the book that I was reading: Like Water For Chocolate by Laura Esquivel. It's a good book! I'd give it 4/5 stars =) Well, i gotta log off. It's 11:30 and I don't feel very well, gotta rest =) Well, see ya guys. To Christmukkah and Post-Holiday Shopping!

Christmukkah: This is a term used by Seth, from The OC (i dont know if you guys watch that) combining Christmas andHanukkah. I find the word cute and fancy =) (btw, I'm not

So, how was my Christmas? Well, let's just say it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. But i mean, it wasnt that great either. It was.....alright..just alright. On Christmas Eve, some
family friends came over for a Christmas party...started at about 8 and ended at around 1-ish. My mom and I prepared the foods the day prior to the party, so the day of, lulutuin
nalang. oh man...that was exhausting! grabe! my hands hurt after chopping cucumbers, mangoes, peppers...holeh crap! di lang yun! madami pa! haha mom kasi wanted to cook Thai
food. so yun, it was yummy tho =)

Christmas Day, which was yesterday, we spent the day with our family friends (again)...we came over naman to their place. My friend and I watched The OC (it was taped....I don't
watch it kasi e, it was the first time I saw it). It was pretty good, actually,I liked the story..it's just kinda weird how they're all connected to each other. Hehe. Then yea, we just
ate and ate and ate and ate! That's my new hobby...Eating! haha! I'm getting sooo fat now =(

Anywho...
hmm...
Today, I went shopping with my family! weeee! haha..it was "boxing day" today, its just this term given to the day after xmas day. So there's a massive sale everywhere kaya there
were tons of people shopping in the malls! buti the mall we went to wasn't as packed. anyway, I didn't really get to buy a lot..just a bag, umm 2 tops and this fleece long sleeves..i
think that was it. =) the bargains were really good actually. better than last year, I would say. Then my sis, bro, and I went to eat in A&W. haha dinner namin! =) anyway, so yea,
that was my day today =)

There's a lil less than 4 days left before THE NEW YEAR! wooohooo!

Goodness. What a week! What a stressful week. Now I feel so relieved. No more cramming and no more stressful thoughts...well, actually there will be some stressful thoughts. Why? I'll tell you why. Because some teachers have nothing better to do, so they give us more work over the freakin holiday! the hell?! In fact, I have two assignments to do. I have accounting work, which is not that bad (im not complaining about that), then I have an "experiment lab" for biology (THAT I'm complaining about) Grr. I so don't understand that teacher. Do you know what we have to do? We have to grow stupid radishes! gadamet. We have no choice right, coz we have to hand it in 2 days after we come back from the so-called "break". Goodness....

Earlier TODAY...
...was the last day of school 'til the break, and probably the most pointless day of the year. I should've just slept in. Grr. Wala naman ginawa sa school. Pointless. By third period, we
just wanted to leave. Lucky, I saw Pamela and then we just wandered around the school after 'reporting' to the teacher. haha. at first we couldn't get him to say "ok", but then we kept begging him to let us leave the class. anyway, while walking, we saw Tricia, so then we all went together to the....caf. Haha! gadamet. time went by sooooo slow! ang boring men..we were there for all 3 lunches..about 110 mins of boredom. goodness. then fourth period came. went to my accounting class to submit something. then yeah....2:18...school's out! woohoo! =) walked to the bus stop with my friend shane.

Right now...
...the party's over. My mom held their lil christmas party here in our place. She invited some of her co-workers. Hehe. Kulit nila. Too much food! I'm so full! Yumm..=) Well, supposedly this is for my "friday" post, but now its 12:40am, saturday. Grr. Some kids wanted to use the pc kasi. haha. ohwell. This is it for now. =) I'm getting sleepy. Tired. Looking forward to tomorrow...I hope I get to shop! =)

So Many Things to Do, So Little Time....

*sigh* Why do they have to give us such a hard time? Why do they give us so much work...and all due at the same friggin' day. Ugh. Hate it. I know it's because christmas vacation is near, that's why they're all cramming with stupid projects and assignments.
Ok, first I have a bio project on "classification w/in some kingdoms" that's due on monday. Then, I also have to write a eulogy on Ghandi, for my religion class that is also to be submitted on monday...and I have to write a mini speech for monday AGAIN. (supposedly for friday, but the teacher's going to be away). Then I have a world history project on "a great person", due on tuesday. and yeah! wait wait! It doesn't stop there...there's more! I have a test on friday on "egypt", and another test on monday on accounting. DAMN IT. Why all these work?!? I'm gonna be screwed. =/ There's definitely no sleeping this week until tuesday next week. argh. Now I remember why Monday sucks major a*s. Grr. By the end of next week, I'd feel like a mat that's been stepped on 28, 961, 000 times. gadamet. *sigh* This sucks. Aww crap its 7pm. I better get working. I got lucky that I didn't have any homework for today. goodness. Well, wish me luck, coz I'm definitely going to need it. I hope I don't pass out. puyatan hits...

Tribute to One of the Greatests Musicians/Bands

A while ago I was looking through some of our CD's here at home, and I found Martin Nievera's VCD/CD. Nope, I'm not going to be talking about him in my blog today, although he is the "Concert King" and one of my favourite (local) singers. Anyway, I played his CD, and there he sang songs by various artists. One of them is The Carpenters. Yes, indeed...The Carpenters were one of a kind. Richard and Karen Carpenter-- a brother sister band that made it to the top. They performed songs that millions loved, such as "Top of the World", "Can't Smile Without You", the famous "Don't Cry for Me Argentina", and the long list goes on...
But, there is this one song by The Carpenters that I really love, I think it has a very powerful message, and I wanna share it with you guys...here it is:

Christmas Season and Lots of Exciting Stuff

I'm sorry for not blogging right away. been really busy these past few days and I didn't have time to sit down and type out my thoughts. =)
anywho, whats's been happenin' with me lately? well, ok Monday, nothing special..same old stuff. We made a scarab(a beetle that was put in place of the heart of the soon-to-be mummy) in my History class. In bio, the teacher asked us to "complete our notes" by answering 40 painstaking questions! huwaw! tsk. buti nalang we were allowed to work in partners. So I worked with Phil (my seatmate) we agreed that I'll be doing the even #s and then he'll be doing the odd ones. Phew. Thank goodness. Less work for the both of us. We're supposed to have a quiz tomorrow, but we begged her to move it on Tuesday so we can have more time to work on the questions. So anyway, the day went on as it does every day...yada yada yada. Tuesday, nothing exciting, nothing new.
Today, I had a trip for biology. We went to the Ontario Science Centre, and it was...alright. LOL. Well, I was expecting it to be all big and interactive and stuff, but the first exhibit that we went too was hellaBORING! too much information! hehe then after that we went to the IMAX dome theatre. That was EXHILARATING! That one's fun. It's the first time I've gone there so I was a bit anxious...coz the place was really huge and it made me dizzy at first coz it feels like we're moving. but then after a while it was alright. what made it even better is that the film that we watched was the "Coral Reef Adventure". very nice pictures and graphics. =) take a peek inside the theatre here
anyway, after the movie, we ate lunch...trix, kathleen and i wandered around for several minutes, then went back to the lobby. That was my day today :) quite interesting ;) but very exhausting!
Anyway, so tomorrow I have yet another long awaited trip! =) My history class is going to the ROM and we also get to watch in an IMAX theatre (again)! =) that should be fun =) So yea, i think I'm gonna end this here. I might be able to blog again tomorrow, but i'm not sure. I'll be doing a lot of stuff tomorrow, so i'm kinda iffy about that. OH, BTW...notice my new layout? LOL. well, i looked around for a nice xmas template and this one caught my eye. =) there's another version of this, but i think i like this better. =)
